The 1996 President’s Award was presented to Mr Robert Castaldi acknowledging his outstanding contribution to carers and to ARAFMI.

Robert has been a member of ARAFMI for approximately 14 years and during this time has been on the Committee of Management as a Vice President and also as a committee member.

Over several years he served as a carer representative on Mental Health Committees and in 1991 Robert, along with John Stone and Phil Brajkovich, formed the Swan Support Group for schizophrenia and related illnesses in response to community needs for families and people suffering mental illness.

For many years he has been a volunteer for ARAFMI and provided significant support in fundraising and also sponsoring the printing of many ARAFMI publications under the name of Bellevue Print.
