ARAFMI Mental Health Carers & Friends Association Incorporated is a non-government, community agency specialising in the care and concerns of families, friends and carers in the mental health area. ARAFMI runs a diverse number of programmes including counselling, support groups, country services, community education and professional training as well as advocacy.

ARAFMI has three main objectives:
  1. To improve the ability of relatives, friends and carers to respond constructively to the challenge of mental health problems / disorders.
     
  2. To increase community acceptance of persons with mental health problems / disorders and their relatives, friends and carers.
     
  3. To advocate on an individual and systems level, for the continued development of the WA mental health system so that it effectively and appropriately meets the needs of consumers and their carers
